So... Tygolia (Temvariana) and Tarrisa (myself) hit 50 yesterday. One more level, and we can start poking our noses into AV (and hopefully I can get rid of my chickenhawk and get a wolf... although Tari really wants an undead horse. She's weird like that) and we were wondering what the heck we were gonna do as a prot pally and holy priest. Do we basically just make it so darn hard for anyone to kill us they give up? Or can we actually be useful there somehow?

(And does anyone know how a non-undead can get enough faction to get a horsie?)

Thanks!

actually surviving as a holy priest in AV isn't as difficult as the other Battlegrounds (people seem to focus fire you a lot less)... at least that's what i've found anyway... i usually just attach myself to the hip of a DPSer or two (not only does that give you some protection from the alliance, but said DPSers are incredibly grateful for the heals and will generally keep a good eye on you) up until we reach the alliance base, at which point i start looking for a warrior or palladin with a sword and board who'll likely be tanking the alliance boss.

i can't speak for the prot pally, i just assume you do whatever DPS / interrupting / healing you can, but i know that people will love you when it comes time to tanking the alliance boss, mainly cuz prot spec'd warriors/pallys are somewhat of a rarity in Battlegrounds.

As for the undead horsie, Tari could just aim for 30 marks in WSG, AB, and AV and get the red war horse. That's how Aeliea got hers.

Ooo, cool. Thanks! Very Happy

I think Ty and Tari should start getting their feet wet in WSG and AB this week before hitting AV when they hit 51. *nod* Er, wait... the break is 49 top of the old one and 50 bottom of the new one, isn't it. *grumbles*

Leuch pretty much covered the priest side of things. I generally attach myself to the first Arms/Fury warrior or Windfury Shaman I can find and follow them around. I can't speak for prot pallies though Sad

If you are serious about BGs (not arenas) you should pick up holy nova too. This is your stealth finder, flag cap interrupter and large scale close combat tide turner. And its just loads of fun too!

That's the one that does damage to everyone near me and heals my party for a little, right? If so, I've already got it to like rank 3 I think? At least above rank 1. Smile I love that spell!

*rubs hands together gleefully*

Being a priest in AV is an absolute *hoot*. I LOVE it. I generally do defense with Janira because I get such a kick out of fearing the alliance waiting around the edge of Drek's room. 9 times out of 10 they will be feared directly into Drek where he and his Warmasters do my dirty work for me. And most times this is enough to slow the Alliance down while our guys take down Vanndar. It's especially fun if you can get some other ae fearers like warlocks and warriors or other priests with you.

I also love healing in WSG. I generally follow anyone going for the flag and play escort, keeping them alive/dispelling bad stuff on 'em. A good healer in WSG is a great asset as *most* of the time people will leave you alone and just try to kill the flag carrier (doesn't *always* happen mind you).

You may die a lot in pvp, but I find being a healer in the BG's very rewarding. Hope you find it just as fun!
