Not too surprising from Hellenistic Egypt, given the icosahedron is one of the Platonic solids and was discovered before 300 B.C. and that Euclid, that most famous of early geometers, wrote his Elements in Alexandria about that same time.

I love Ancient Greek mathematics. ^_^
